Jim Payne is the famous musician and author who wrote the definitive book on funk drumming in the 80's and played with everyone from Maceo Parker, the JB Horns, Michel Brecker to Mary Wells. He has played in touring Baptist Church groups and for 1000's on the international stage. He also produced music groups such as Medeski Martin and Wood and wrote songs in the famous stax studios. Linear Modern Drumming is the culmination of 60 years of experience.
