No, you're right--Morandi and the next one look most like my attempt. The other two I mentioned are ones I really liked, and I wish I could paint like that! Thanks for your encouragement, Sam. I am learning, especially from the Morandi book :)

Yes! Fairfield Porter and Neil Welliver.

Not sure I resonate with Porter (although his work is very interesting), but the Welliver landscapes - especially how he did water are really helpful! I read up on him and found some not so great info about him personally, but I can still admire his work 😉
